About Us
The Missouri Plein Air Painters Association
was established in 1999 by a group of local artists, with
the express purpose of furthering the practice and appreciation
of plein air painting in Missouri and surrounding regions.
All paintings represented by this Association are painted
on location, rather than in the studio. The Association relies
upon the integrity of the members to preserve this primary
objective.
The goals of the Association are as
follows:
| |
To
share experiences, ideas and
the joy of plein air painting through paint-outs, meetings,
group shows, exhibits and social gatherings; |
| |
To
promote the great natural beauty
of Missouri and surrounding regions and to add to the
art worlds appreciation of these regional scenic
qualities; |
| |
To
provide opportunities for member
artists to exhibit their paintings through group shows,
paint-outs, wet paint exhibits and this web site. |
| |
To
support the Missouri Regional
art community through sponsorship of open (invitational)
paint-outs, and participation in local shows and exhibits. |
Membership is a privilege and a position that
is earned by participation in group activities, carrying an
attitude of professionalism and continued growth of his/her
talent.
